Touro Infirmary’s Imaging Center has earned accreditation in Ultrasound as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). The Imaging Center is now accredited in all modalities offered by the ACR.
The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.

Touro Infirmary’s Imaging Center has been awarded a three-year term
of accreditation in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and computed
topography (CT) as the result of a recent review by the American College
of Radiology (ACR). The ACR gold seal of accreditation represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety. It is awarded only to facilities meeting ACR Practice Guidelines and Technical Standards after a peer-review evaluation by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in the field.
“This accreditation is a testament to our work and dedication to the patients. This distinction allows us to continue to provide high quality care for the community.” says Dr. Reuben Chrestman, medical director of imaging services at the Touro Imaging Center.
The ACR is a national professional organization serving more than 34,000 diagnostic/interventional radiologists, radiation oncologists, nuclear medicine physicians and medical physicists with programs focusing on the practice of medical imaging and radiation oncology and the delivery of comprehensive health care services.
Touro Infirmary’s Women’s Imaging Center has been designated a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology.
By awarding facilities the status of a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence, the ACR recognizes breast imaging centers that have earned accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, and breast ultrasound, including ultrasound-guided breast biopsy.
“ACR accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging. We are proud that our facility has received this designation and are committed to providing highest level of imaging quality,” says Dr. Daniel Rupley, Touro women’s imaging specialist.
Peer-review evaluations by board-certified physicians have determined that the Touro Women’s Imaging Center has achieved high practice standards in image quality, personnel qualifications, facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs.
