Community Health Needs Assessment

Touro Infirmary has a long-standing commitment to the community spans more than 160 years. This commitment has grown and evolved through significant thought and care in considering our community’s most pressing health needs. One way we do this is by conducting a comprehensive Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The most current assessment was completed by an external health care consultants working with Touro and include quantitative and qualitative data that serve to guide both our community benefit planning.

The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 requires nonprofit, tax-exempt hospitals to assess the healthcare needs of their communities every three years and to adopt an implementation strategy to address the needs identified. Through our CHNA, Touro has identified the greatest health needs in our hospital’s community, enabling Touro to ensure our resources are appropriately directed toward outreach, prevention, education and wellness opportunities where the greatest impact can be realized.
