About the speaker
Nancy G. Townsend,
RN, MN, CCRN
Nancy Townsend is a nationally known critical care nurse educator and has presented a wide range of critical care continuing education programs throughout the country including numerous appearances at the AACN National Teaching Institute. She is the owner and director of Nursing Knowledge Inc. (NKI) since 1979 and also founded NursEd, a consulting firm. Nancy Townsend was first certified in critical care in 1979 and has certified ten times by examination. She designed and teaches the successful CCRN Review Course whose participants have consistently achieved pass rates of 90-100% for over 20 years.
She is an AACN member and the recipient of an award for Excellence in Nursing Education from the greater New Orleans Chapter. She is also a member of the Society of Critical Care Medicine, a supporter of the Foundation for Critical Care, and a member of ANA and Sigma Theta Tau.
Besides teaching and consulting throughout Louisiana, she has spoken at national and regional critical care seminars throughout the United States. She was named four times to Who’s Who in American Nursing. With 30 years of nursing experience and 28 years as a critical care nurse, Nancy Townsend continues to practice as a Critical Care Nurse Specialist.
