The Touro Infirmary Auxiliary's proud history stretches back more than 120 years to 1887, when the Ladies Aid and Sewing Society organized its first raffle to raise money for the purchase of surgical towels and linens. Since then, the Auxiliary has made many significant gifts to the hospital. More recent examples include the purchase of an infant security system for the Family Birthing Center nursery and funding for the Senior Day Center.

The Auxiliary's major fund-raising resource is the Touro Gift Shop, which the Auxiliary owns and operates. Located adjacent to the hospital's first floor Foucher St. lobby, the Gift Shop generates profits which the Auxiliary annually dedicates to various hospital projects.

Many Auxiliary members also contribute to Touro through Volunteer Services, working in the Gift Shop as well as in other areas throughout the hospital.
