Clinical Nutrition Services
We recognize that nutrition is an essential component of cancer treatment. Adequate nutrition can help maximize your nutritional status before, during and after cancer treatment.
Our nutritionists have achieved the certification of registered dietitian (RD) with advanced education and extensive experience in Oncology Nutrition and Nutrition Support. Comprehensive nutrition care is provided both during your hospitalization and in the outpatient chemotherapy and radiation departments.
Inpatient Services include:
- Screening for nutritional risk
- Nutritional evaluations
- Individualized nutrition goals with an interdisciplinary care plan
- Routine visits designed to monitor progress
- Counseling sessions on management of treatment side effects, drug/nutrient interactions, vitamin/mineral supplementation, nutrition supplements and other specialized nutrition such as tubefeedings or TPN (IV nutrition)
Outpatient Services include:

The Eat Well to Fight Cancer program is available to Touro patients to provide you with helpful information and resources to maintain a balanced diet before, during and after cancer treatment.
