Touro provides access to reliable information and helpful resources.
For many people, a diagnosis of cancer initially leads to a search for information. Having the right amount and type of information is important when making treatment decisions and other decisions regarding your care. Touro recognizes your need to access reliable cancer-specific information and offers you several ways to become informed:
Patient Resource Library: Located in the Supportive Cancer Care Center on the 1st floor of Touro Infirmary, the library is stocked with books and free brochures on cancer, and offers access to cancer-specific websites through the library’s computer.
Touro Cancer Program Website: An online resource available at www.touro.com/cancer that offers useful, concise information to help you throughout the cancer care continuum from diagnosis to treatment and beyond
New Patient Orientation: This is an opportunity to meet with the Cancer Care Navigator, to get information on cancer and have your questions answered. You can schedule an orientation session by calling Lori Dean, RN, OCN, at (504) 897-7014 or email her at lori.dean@touro.com
