To promote careers in nursing and allied health, Touro Volunteer Services hosts an intense one-week Health Career Camp for rising high school juniors, seniors and recent graduates. This year’s program will be held at the hospital, Monday, July 26 – Friday, July 30. Forty participants will be accepted in 2010.
The curriculum includes 10 different clinical rotations, CPR training, a disaster drill, and field trip to off-campus facilities. Working in small teams, participants benefit from hands-on learning activities as well as the opportunity to meet and observe healthcare professionals in their actual work environment.
Through partnerships with area colleges and universities with programs in healthcare, campers have the opportunity to meet and discuss their career plans with school recruiters.
