
Touro Diabetes Center provides a comprehensive program of educational services to individuals and groups. Services include self-management education in a group setting or one-on-one; monthly support groups; educational seminars and/or lectures.
Diabetes classes are offered twice a month. Instructors include nurse educators and a dietitian.
Our team works closely with physicians to identify each person's needs and helps them develop the self-management skills needed to control their disease.

In order for our team to work with outpatients, a physician's order needs to be completed, signed and faxed to our office at 504-897-7413.
Our educators are registered with the American Association of Diabetes Educators and are available to help inpatients who are newly diagnosed with diabetes or who may be having difficulty managing their disease. The American Diabetes Association recognizes this education service as meeting the national standards for diabetes self-management education.
