Rehabilitation means reshaping lives and restoring lost abilities after an illness or injury, by treating the whole patient— physically, emotionally, and socially. Our goal is to help patients achieve their optimum level of function and return to an independent life.
At Touro, patients are assisted in their goals for recovery in a warm, comfortable environment by a team of caring and highly qualified professionals.
Following an evaluation of a patient’s functional abilities, an individualized rehabilitation program is developed. The treatment program addresses:
- Mobility
- Performance of activities of daily living
- Communication skills and
- Swallowing function
Patients represent a wide variety of conditions including:
- Stroke or aneurysm
- Orthopedic impairment
- Cardiopulmonary dysfunction
- Neurological disorder
- Amputation
- Chronic pain
- Arthritis
- Low vision
- Other general medical problems
Touro Rehabilitation Center’s outpatient facility on the West Bank is located on the campus of Woldenberg Village, a full-service retirement community that is a division of Touro Infirmary. Free parking is available next to the rehab center entrance.
