Hugh Long, PhD
Hugh W. Long, PhD, Chairman
Hugh W. Long, PhD is Professor of Health Systems Management and Adjunct Professor of Law at Tulane University. He is a past member of Congress’s Medicare Payment Advisory Commission and former chair of the Medicare Geographic Classification Review Board. He is a consulting economic expert in health-related civil litigation and a frequent lecturer on fiscal management for the American College of Physician Executives. He also serves as the President of the Board of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.

Louis K. Good, III, Vice Chairman
Lou Good, who was born at Touro, has owned Fiber-Seal, an interior maintenance company in New Orleans since 1979 and is also an owner and the operator of the University Village Shopping Center. His father served as the Chairman of Touro Infirmary and his mother and grandfather have also served on its board. In addition to the Touro Infirmary Governing Board, Lou is currently a Vice President of the Jewish Federation of Greater New Orleans, a past Chair of the URJ Henry S. Jacobs Camp and a past President of Touro Synagogue.

Joy Braun
Joy Braun, Secretary/Treasurer
Joy G. Braun is an attorney in the law firm of Sessions, Fishman, Nathan and Israel, LLP where she serves as the firm’s product liability practice area leader. She graduated with honors from Duke University with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree in 1976, and magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Tulane University School of Law in 1981 where she was the presiding judge of the Moot Court Board. She has also served as a member of Tulane’s adjunct Trial Advocacy Faculty. Her commitment to improve the quality of life in New Orleans is manifested by her service on various boards and community organizations including the South Central Region Advisory Board of the Anti-Defamation League, WRBH, and most recently Touro Infirmary.

Greg Feirn
Greg Feirn,
President and Chief Executive Officer of Louisiana Children’s Medical Center
Mr. Feirn currently serves as the Chief Executive Officer of LCMC Health, the parent company which manages Children's Hospital, Touro Infirmary, and the Interim L.S.U. Hospital. He has over 20 years of healthcare experience, including 15 years with Children's Hospital and five years with a "Big 4" accounting firm, Deloitte & Touche, LLP. His professional experience includes financial accounting, non-profit tax accounting, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement strategy, investment portfolio management and operations, and healthcare-related academic research. He completed the MBA program at Tulane University's A.B. Freeman School of Business with an emphasis in finance, graduating with honors, and has his CPA accreditation. In his role as CEO for LCMC, he is responsible for management coordination of the LCMC Board of Trustees and for oversight and analysis of the System’s operations and investment portfolio.

Jim T. Montgomery

President and Chief Executive Officer of Touro Infirmary
James T. Montgomery, as a healthcare executive with more than 30 years experience, has an extensive background in hospital management in a variety of hospital settings including non-profit, for profit and academic facilities. He served as Chief Executive Officer at Corpus Christi Medical Center, a healthcare system owned by the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), since September 2007 where he led a group of four hospitals. Prior to his work in Texas, Mr. Montgomery served as CEO of Tulane University Hospital & Clinic for seven years and played an integral role in leading the organization’s post-Katrina recovery efforts. He has also served as President and CEO of the Central Louisiana Healthcare Partnership, a for-profit joint venture between the Rapides Foundation and HCA, and President and CEO of Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

Allan Bissinger
Allan Bissinger is the President of Electrical Sales Corporation, a family-owned New Orleans telecommunications business. He graduated from Auburn University with a BSEE in 1975 after which he returned to New Orleans. As a resident of New Orleans for the past 55 years he has acquired board experience through his volunteer service with many community organizations. His connection with Touro began with his birth at the hospital and he has continued in the family tradition following in his fathers footsteps as a board member.


Kim Boyle
Kim Boyle
Kim M. Boyle is a partner in the Employment Law Group at Phelps Dunbar LLP. Ms. Boyle has practiced in all areas of commercial litigation, as well as employment litigation, tort litigation and general litigation. She is a former Judge Pro Tempore of Division "I" of Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, as well as a former Assistant Professor of Law at Loyola University School of Law. Kim is a New Orleans native. She graduated from Princeton University before attending University of Virginia School of Law and returning to New Orleans in 1987.
Dr. Peter Glaser, D.D.S.
Peter Glaser, D.D.S.
Dr. Glaser is a retired dentist, having graduated from Loyola Dental School in 1963. He is a former instructor at both Loyola and Louisiana State University Schools of Dentistry. Dr. Glaser has been and is presently on the boards of several charity organizations as well as past President of the New Orleans Dental Association. His connection with Touro began with his birth at the hospital.
Jack Jacob, M.D.
Jack Jacob, M.D.
Dr. Jack Jeff Jacob has been a member of the medical staff of Touro Infirmary since 1974, having previously done an Internship here from 1969-70. He has served on numerous committes at the hospital over the years, has spent many years on Medical Executive, has been chief of Ob Gyn for 10 years and has been employed by Crescent Cilty Physicians since 1995. He is active in community affairs and has served as President of the Greater New Orleans ObGyn Society. 

Ruth KullmanRuth Kullman, Past Chair
Ruth Kullman is the owner of Kullman Consulting which specializes in non-profit consulting and political fundraising. She received her B.A. and M.S.W. from Tulane University. Additional community involvement includes serving as past President of Touro Synagogue, Planned Parenthood of Louisiana, and New Orleans Outreach. She currently serves on the Boards of the Institute of Mental Hygiene and New Orleans College Prep Charter School.

Stephen Kupperman
Attorney Stephen Kupperman has served on the Governing Board since 2000 and as chairman from 2005-08. His father was a Touro Board member for many years. He is a partner and founding member of Barrasso Usdin Kupperman & Sarver, L.L.C. He graduated from Newman High School, earned a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Tulane University Law School.


Stephen L. Sontheimer, Secretary/Treasurer
Stephen L. Sontheimer
Stephen L. Sontheimer, a funeral director/consultant with Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Home, is a 4th generation New Orleanian. His late father was a Touro Board Member and Stephen currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Board and as a member of the Finance Committee. For over 40 years, he has been an active participant in community affairs having served numerous boards and has been recognized for service to the arts community as well as the Jewish and Catholic communities. He is currently a member of the board of The Greater New Orleans Foundation.

Dr. Newland Knight Worley, an otolaryngologist in private practice, has served as an active participant in numerous hospital committees since joining Touro’s medical staff in 1994. Dr. Worley has been a member of Touro’s Medical Staff Executive Committee since 1998 and was a past Vice President from 2002 – 2006, and President from 2006 – 2008. A member of the Touro Infirmary Board of Governor’s since 2006, Dr. Worley also holds positions on the Governing Boards of the Touro Infirmary Foundation and the Orleans Parish Medical Society. He is a graduate of the Tulane University School of Medicine and serves as an assistant clinical professor with the Department of Otolaryngology/Head & Neck Surgery.
 Dr. Ellen Zakris
Ellen Zakris, M.D.
Dr. Ellen Zakris is Touro’s Director of Radiation Oncology. She is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and performed her residency at Harvard Medical School. She has extensive experience in comprehensive cancer treatment with special interest in breast, gynecological, pediatric, prostate, lung and central nervous system (CNS) malignancies. Dr. Zakris treats adult radiation oncology patients at Touro as well as pediatric radiation oncology patients from Children’s Hospital.She serves on the boards of several local organizations, including the New Orleans Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Touro Synagogue.
