Nurse shortage

In the wake of facing a nursing shortage, LCMC Health has announced an exciting alliance with Chamberlain University.

The program that will be launched is the Called-to-Care Scholars program.

The Pandemic and the events of the past 15 months shined a bright light on the shortage health care workers and The Called-to-Care Scholars Program is an innovative alliance of healthcare and education created to address a critical workforce need.

LCMC Health and Chamberlain University will be working together to continue to strengthen the nursing profession and address the shortages with a full tuition support program.

Through this partnership, LCMC Health plans to fully fund a 3-yr Bachelors of Science in Nursing for 270 nursing students at Chamberlain University. This is full tuition funding will cover 90 BSN students per year for three years. A $14.4m dollar commitment over 6 years.

This allows us to live out one of our core components of our mission – EDUCATION.

We will develop a stronger workforce locally and keep those higher income earning jobs right here in the greater New Orleans area.
