Supporting Touro NICU Families
The Touro Foundation announces a partnership with Saul’s Light to benefit the families of the Family Birthing Center at Touro, especially those in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Saul’s Light is a New Orleans based non-profit that provides support and community to families with babies in the NICU. This partnership provides several resources to the patients and families at Touro, including:
- The establishment of a Saul’s Light Fund at the Touro Foundation to support families in the NICU who are experiencing financial hardships due to their baby’s hospitalization.
- The creation of a NICU Little Library so families can bond with their babies by reading them books during their NICU stay.
- The coordination of monthly NICU and bereavement support groups for families in need.
- The donation of a Cuddle Cot for the Family Birthing Center at Touro.
Saul’s Light was founded in 2015 by Kimberly and Aaron Novod after the passing of their son, Saul, in a New Orleans NICU. For more information on resources provided by this program, please contact the Touro Foundation at Foundation@lcmchealth.org.
