Resources
Touro provides access to helpful information and resources.
For many people, a diagnosis of cancer initially leads to a search for
information. Having the right amount and type of information is important
when making treatment decisions and other decisions regarding your care.
Touro recognizes your need to access reliable cancer-specific information
and offers you several ways to become informed:
Patient Resource Library: Located in the Supportive Cancer Care Center on the 1st floor of Touro
Infirmary, the library is stocked with books and free brochures on cancer,
and offers access to cancer-specific websites through the library’s computer.
Touro Cancer Care Website: An online resource available at
here that offers useful, concise information to help you throughout the cancer
care continuum from diagnosis to treatment and beyond
New Patient Orientation: This is an opportunity to meet with the Cancer Care Navigator, to get
information on cancer and have your questions answered. You can schedule
an orientation session by calling Danielle McCullogh, RN, BSN at
504.210.4475 or email her at
Danielle.mccullogh@lcmchealth.org.
Touro Guidebooks:
These two guidebooks present information in a way that is easy to understand. A copy of the guidebooks can be obtained by visiting the Patient Resource Library in the Touro Supportive Cancer Care Center or by calling 504.897.8678.
If you are newly diagnosed with cancer, determining the right kind and amount of information you need is important. Finding reliable information and resources that you can trust is critical to making decisions about your treatment and feeling confident about what to do next.
