The Family Birthing Center at Touro offers a comprehensive, individualized and positive approach to birth preparation, labor, delivery and postpartum care. Our partners at Children’s Hospital are then available to offer pediatric care for your new baby – helping your child grow through every exciting milestone.

Before baby comes, take a tour of our beautiful facility: Whether you live Uptown, on the Westbank, in Metairie, or any place in between, Touro is here to provide the exceptional, personalized care you’re looking for, along with the latest technology, in a comfortable environment. Touro offers comprehensive care in a beautiful and peaceful facility that includes 14 private labor and delivery rooms, 36 private post-partum rooms, two specialized well-baby nurseries, 24-hour anesthesia coverage and daily breastfeeding assistance for nursing mothers. For our tiniest and most fragile babies, we have a state-of-the-art Level III NICU equipped with 24 private and semi-private rooms, access to perinatal services, and two transition-to-discharge rooms to help parents prepare to take their little one home.
Because this is a big decision, we want to make it possible for you to take a look at the Family Birthing Center before you choose a birthing center. Tours of our birthing center are free – just meet us in the waiting room of the Family Birthing Center located on the 2nd floor of the main hospital. Follow the signs that say M2 Maternity. We offer both group and individual tours and will validate your parking in one of our two attached parking garages while you visit.
Individual tours may be scheduled during the week; group tours do not require scheduling and are offered:
- The first Tuesday of every month at 9 a.m.
- The second Saturday of every month at 10 a.m.
- The third Thursday of every month at 4 p.m.
Whether you are having your first child or your fourth, you may have questions about your delivery and about how our team will assist. The providers at Touro are prepared to answer any questions and address concerns you may have about the delivery process. We work hard to make sure that your delivery is handled with the care, respect, and professionalism you deserve on your special day. Our team can also accommodate your unique needs or preferences and do what it takes to ensure a smooth and stress-free delivery.
